RIDING THE STORM

In the middle of a lesson about adversity. He asked the class "when difficult situations happen in life is it better to go with the flow than fight"?To answer his own question the Master Tao invited the students to meet him at the back of the school. The backside of the school building was facing the mountains.
There was a storm warning and Tao asked them keep there eye on an eagle who was circling around the mountain top. An eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks, the master commented. The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
